nooj's aim: Crimson Meyvn

PERSONALITY: Nooj comes across as very cold and emotionless. He is fearless, extremely charismatic, and motivated with a sharp, sarcastic sense of humor. He seeks his own death by putting himself in danger but always seems to live through it. He is very close to Paine, Baralai, and Gippal. He is very tolerant of people, judging my his tolerance for Youth League members.
He also has a 'fangirl' of sorts, named Leblanc. Details of their relationships are unknown, although Leblanc mentions several times that he's smiled. They seem very close, judging by one scene where they believe they are alone, however when others are around, Nooj hides that softer side and is once again very cold.
HISTORY: Nooj later fought against Sin as a Crusader where he lost his left arm and left leg. He gained quite a reputation among the Crusaders as a Deathseeker (he sought death but always seemed to live through dangerous situations).
Nooj later joined the Crimson Squad early on. His teammates were Baralai and Gippal, with Paine as their sphere recorder. They spent a lot of time together and enjoyed one another's company. They even discussed their future plans, that the four of them would set sail on an airship, with Nooj as its captain.
The squad was sent on a mission with various other squads into a cave. The mission was supposedly an 'initiation' mission to become real Crimson Squad members. The cave was filled with pyreflies which began making the members go crazy and shoot one another. The cause was Shuyin's despair, interwtined with the pyreflies. Nooj was overpowered by Shuyin's despair (due to his desire to seek death) and shot Baralai, Gippal, and Paine. Somehow, the four escape, being the only surviving members of the mission, and split apart.
Nooj founded the Youth League (repulsed by New Yevons actions) and became it's leader, known as the Meyvn.The Youth League was made up of those who opposed New Yevon. The League turned no one away, so it was notorious for being very roudy.
Over the last year, the tension between the Youth League and New Yevon grew. The two groups clashed at many occasions. One to note occurred at Kilika Forest. The temple, belonging to New Yevon, had found an 'Awesome Sphere' which supposedly revealed the history of Spira. Nooj rallied members of the Youth League to storm Kilika Temple and take back a piece of Spira's history. In the end, YRP ended up taking the sphere.
[If yuna chooses to give the sphere to the Youth League,] Nooj reveals that the massive machina shown in the sphere is called Vegnagun, an ancient weapon that Nooj believes New Yevon is trying to control.
Sometime later, YRP encounters Nooj at the entrance to the Den of Woe. [if sphere to youth league] Nooj reveals that the Den of Woe can only be opened if certain spheres are placed in a certain order at the door, but Nooj only has only one sphere. [either way] Nooj gives the sphere to Paine, suprised to see her. They hadn't seen one another for over two years.
At Chateau Leblanc, Nooj recieves information on the whereabouts of Vegnagun from Leblanc. Shortly thereafter, Nooj, Baralai, and Gippal go missing.
Under Bevelle, Baralai, Nooj, and Gippal have a not-so-happy reunion. Baralai and Nooj are untrusting of each other as the Youth League and New Yevon. Baralai reveals that vegnagun suddenly went missing. Nooj doesn't trust Baralai's story. Then Baralai gets angryu and pulls out his gun, aiming it at Nooj, demanding to know why he shot them in the back during the Crimson Squad training exercise. Gippal pulls his gun out on Baralai, then Nooj on Gippal. The three were in a stale-mate. Then a glowing form goes out of Nooj and into Baralai. It's Shuyin's spirit, which had been controlling Nooj since the training exercise. Shuyin!Baralai flees. Gippal and Nooj chased after him.
Much later, Nooj and Gippal meet up with YRP briefly in the Farplane, telling Yuna that they're going after Shuyin!Baralai and that YRP should take care of Spira. They both give Yuna one sphere each, telling her to give them to Paine. They head off in the direction that Shuyin!Baralai headed.
Later, Gippal finds and fixes a CommSphere which had fallen into the Farplane. Nooj and Gippal were still alive, much to YRP and Leblanc's suprise. Nooj and Gippal reveal that Shuyin!Baralai has revived Vegnagun. Nooj says he has a plan, but the CommSphere cuts off before he says much more. The broadcast convinces YRP to go down to the Farplane and help defeat Vegnagun.
YRP meet up with Gippal and Nooj in the Farplane to fight Vegnagun and Shuyin!Baralai. Nooj formulates a plan to shoot Baralai so Shuyin would take over Nooj again, then he'd kill himself. Rejected. Yuna comes up with a better plan. The group plans to take apart Vegnagun. YRP, Nooj, and Gippal take down Vegnagun piece by piece. Then Yuna coaxes Shuyin out of Baralai by having Lenne speak through her.
After Vegnagun falls and Shuyin is finally put to rest, Baralai, Nooj, and Gippal give a powerful speech, telling the people that they shouldn't fight amongst themselves but instead work together to make a peaceful Spira.
WHY ARES? Hell if he knows. One day he was minding his own business over at Mushroom Rock. The next day he wakes up here.
CURRENT STORY: He arrived in Ares, believing it was some far reaches of the Farplane, perhaps the equivalent of Hell. He was assigned a hellish job - a phone company operator - where he had to listen to whiny customers and such all day. He began formulating conspiracy theories about how they got there and that someone wanted them there for their own enjoyment. His plots were cut short with a threat courtesy of Yuber, but his conspiracies continued behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, Gippal had been pressuring Nooj and Paine to go out and when the strange chemicals (which caused false euphoria) flooded the air, courtesy of Hojo, Paine and Nooj went out to a local coffeehouse on a not-date, simply to quiet Gippal down. The two found they enjoyed it greatly, talking for hours, then speaking on the way home. Nooj hinted at his love for her, but couldn't exactly put it into words. Paine also expressed a fondness for him.
The effects of the chemicals faded, but the words Nooj spoke hadn't. He invited Paine over for coffee at his place, where they sampled cake and talked for a long time. Paine slowly began opening up to him and the more they met, the deeper their feelings became.
The metallic rat invasion struck, leaving Nooj worried about his beloved Paine. He made his way down the stairs to find her and the two fought side by side. In a collaberative effort, the two eventually made it outside and journeyed towards the source of the rats. Nooj sacrificed part of his HP and MP to get them there and due to his reduced HP, he fired a massive HP/MP bullet at the generator and with Paine, took it down and freed Arcadia from the onslaught.
The two attended the mandatory christmas ball together, both dressed up. Even Nooj changed his usual red jumpsuit to look good at the ball for her. The two spent most of the night sampling the fingerfood and snarking about Ares. They were interrupted once by Axel, who nonchalantly asked them when they would finally kiss and get it on.
New year's struck with an infection of truth serum. Through more dates, Nooj and Paine finally got past the blocks that logic placed on their hearts and finally confessed their love for one another. The serum's effects soon died down but their love remained until one day, disaster struck. Fueled by confusion in her own heart (especially confusion caused by her odd relationship with and feelings toward Axel), Paine struck with harsh words, yelling relentlessly at a confused Nooj, who basically broke apart, but the two eventually made up by the end of the conversation.
They met the next day in person. Paine brought over a chocolate cheesecake as an offering, but the two really didn't touch it. They lamented over the previous day's conversation and eventually began to feel better. Emotions began to fly across the table and the two eventually retreated to the bedroom, both mutually consenting to what came after that.
